Coldwell Banker Bain (CB Bain) of Puyallup, a leading provider of luxury real estate brokerage services, has announced that The Residential Real Estate Council has named CB Bain broker Stephanie Callen as Washington’s CRS Realtor of the Year. Annually awarded to a broker holding a CRS designation, it is the organization’s highest honor and recognizes professional accomplishments in both experience and education.
Formerly known as the Council of Residential Specialists, The Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) is the largest non-profit affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®, offering education and networking to residential real estate agents around the world. The Council has an extensive network of spokespeople, who have wide range of expertise in a variety of real estate-related subjects, from general real estate to specialized topics such as trends and business-related topics.
Callen has been a real estate broker for 12 years, all with CB Bain, specializing in residential, luxury and investment properties throughout the region. In addition to her CRS, Callen holds Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI) and Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) designations. She is immediate past president of Washington Chapter of Council of Residential Specialist and in 2015 was awarded Coldwell Banker National’s International President’s Premier Award.
I’ve always had an interest in being a REALTOR®. After an illness forced me to close the daycare/preschool business I owned and operated, I decided to pursue that interest. After researching many Real Estate companies, I decided Coldwell Banker Bain would be the best fit for me.
What attracted me most about Coldwell Banker Bain was the extensive training, the resources they provide their agents and the support of literally everyone from the office personnel to co-agents and my Principal Managing Broker, Tasha Pasco. I must also mention Dale Shoemaker, my assistant Principal Managing Broker, because without his passion for teaching and his Real Estate school, I would not be where I am today.
I can assure you that I am an ethical person who believes strongly in the core values of hard work, honesty, integrity, trustworthiness, and fairness. I am dedicated and will go above and beyond for every client.
When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy hiking, traveling and spending time outdoors. I am a huge baseball fan and you will often find me near a baseball field. The thing I enjoy most is time with my family and friends.
Testimonial from David H: “I knew early on that you were a new agent. However, your professionalism was on par with what I would expect from a seasoned veteran. I, and the rest of my family, am pleased to endorse you as a superb professional.”

When I decided to finally make the move into real estate, there was no other option than Coldwell Banker Bain for me. Everything has been a perfect fit so far. From all of the tools and resources available to all of the friendly faces at each one of the offices. It just made sense to me and there is no other firm that I could see myself working at.
I chose to move into the Real Estate field for many different reasons. Honestly, the main one is that I enjoy working with people! It’s always fun and exciting to get to know new people and interact with them. What better way to do that than by trying to find their new home and or by selling their current home?
I am currently in my 1st year of real estate and am super excited to see what the future holds. All of my past jobs have been in some form of customer service and it’s what I’m good at. I have wanted to find a career that challenged me to use previously learned skills while continuing to challenge me every day. I think that real estate is a perfect fit!
When I am out of the office and not assisting clients, I enjoy many different activities. The majority of them are geared around friends and family. Snowboarding, camping, and outdoor concerts are just a few examples of things that I enjoy!

I chose Coldwell Banker Bain because of their attention to detail, training and their ability to provide their clients with the best services around. And being a proud resident of the Puget Sound area for over 25 years, it is only natural that I choose a local company like Coldwell Banker Bain.
I have been a REALTOR® since April 2017, but have experience buying/purchasing real estate for the last 10 years. Before going into real estate, I was a stay at home mom, who homeschooled. Before that, I was an air traffic controller in the FAA and served in the navy. I chose to become a REALTOR® because I want to help educate home buyers so that they can purchase a home that will make them happy for years to come.
I enjoy taking my three daughters to the 3 local zoos, Pt Defiance, NW Trek and Woodland Zoo. I also like to hike and travel to new places.

Purchasing a home is often the single-most expensive investment a person will make in their lifetime. Buying or selling can be an emotionally-charged process that often comes with unexpected obstacles. Such an important purchase requires an understanding and knowledgeable professional to help buyers and sellers successfully navigate through the transaction process. Since being licensed in 1999, I have assisted buyers and sellers in Washington and Colorado, providing them with the necessary knowledge and negotiating skills to close the deal and achieve the best possible outcome.
Partnering with Coldwell Banker Bain in Tacoma was to me the obvious best choice! According to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, Coldwell Banker has the largest market share and highest sales volume on the I-5 corridor. I’m excited to be partnered with a brokerage whose mission is to “Do the right thing”, reinforcing my mission to be a caring Realtor for you, and to convey the professional image needed to attract the highest-quality buyers for your home. As a home-buyer, you can expect the same quality service while finding your dream home.
Caring for people and being supportive are the most important things I will ever do in my lifetime. Becoming an advocate for families and children with special needs has become one of my passions. Prior to my real estate career, I taught preschool for 12 years, working with children and families with special needs. Following the death of my adult son Jordan to schizophrenia and suicide in 2011, I became an advocate in the Washington State Legislature for Mental Healthcare Reform and Suicide Prevention. I currently work with the Steilacoom School district to help children with special needs.
Since moving back from Colorado in 2016, I now live on Anderson Island with my family. However, most of my childhood memories are of living and going to school in both University Place and North Tacoma where I attended Stadium and Foss High Schools. I frequented Pt. Defiance Park and spent countless summer weekends at my parent’s vacation cabin on Anderson Island.

Growing up in the Northwest, I have always seen Coldwell Banker as the local name for real estate. When it was time to choose a brokerage, it was clear that the “local” company was an international company with decades of experience was the best fit for me. With constant training, exclusive resources, and knowing I can consult with hundreds of years of experience in my office when there’s an unusual situation means I can confidently serve my clients in a way that no other brokerage can offer.
I’m in my third year as a licensed broker. I bring 25 years of non-profit experience in health education, an Information Systems degree, and community coordination to my transactions. It helps me consider the larger picture in negotiations, strategize, and embrace new, innovative technologies and marketing tools to best serve my clients.
As a kid, I enjoyed reading the comics and then looking at the housing ads in the Sunday paper. When it was time for me to return to the workforce after a few years as a stay-at-home mom, I knew the magnetic pull towards real estate was pretty much the only option for me. Each day keeps me on my toes. I enjoy mixing the opportunity to meet new people with looking at architecture, problem-solving and creatively helping people move to the next stage in their life. Adding to that, being a Realtor important to me because it means I am telling my clients I am committed to a higher standard for everyone that I serve.
As a parent, my kiddos are the ones that motivate me to get out of bed in the morning, followed by the opportunity to help a neighbor feel more confident in their situation. Real Estate can be intimidating to many people and the need to learn about it often comes at a time when there’s a time crunch or difficult changes in circumstances. I aim to help my clients feel confident about their options and know there is someone alongside them to just offering a casual Lunch with a Realtor so they can just talk through their situation and figure out what the best next steps are for them.

I chose to be a REALTOR® because this career allowed me to set my own destiny. The possibilities are endless when you are a REALTOR®. Some people are happy selling 3 houses a year, others are happy selling 50 houses a year. So yes, it is a good life which is why I have been a REALTOR® for 19+ years. I really cannot imagine myself doing anything else.
The reason I have been with Coldwell Banker Bain for so many years is because the education they provide is superb and this is the only company that provides the Real Estate Guide insert that goes into the Saturday Tacoma News Tribune.
Before that, I was an Office Administrator for Chassis Components, a race car shop. As owners of the shop, my husband and I facilitated the building of the race cars, and I helped create the manual for the crew.
When I’m not helping my sellers or buyers, I love to garden. I enjoy planting new flowers and watch them come back up again next year. I also volunteer at a retirement center, taking seniors to their doctor appointments and to the grocery store so they don’t have to pay for public transportation.
I find that going into the office every day and feeling the energizing atmosphere is the greatest motivation that keeps me on the move. It really motivates me to help my clients buy and sell their homes!
